Feb 7 Cook Strait

We left Wellington and headed west though the strait.
Last night we learned about Pelorus Jack. A Risso's dolphin that guided steamships through french pass for over 25 years and was world famous.

10 am wildlife watch included 5 albatross, 3 gannets, a sooty shearwater and a sperm whale blow off the port side.

45 min spin on the bike and some pool time after lunch

4 pm stargazer meeting was nice. They are going to turn out the lights tomorrow night

4:30 talk on space 2.0
Dinner in the restaurant with barb and Gary .  Very nice white wine from NZ
