Sunday April 9 - Jeddah

Up very early as the time changes are taking a toll.   I watched the sunrise and sail into the port.  I did the included tour as it was the only option.   Martha did the woman's tour to see what that was about.
After the sail in it was the standard cattle call down in the star theater
Group 4 and off we go.  Bus ride around town to see some of the sites and then to the old part of town. As it is Ramadan all of the shops were closed.  We walked about 2.5 miles in the close to 100 degree heat over a couple hours.  Many people  were unhappy with the walk.  The complete area is a UNESCO world haretige. The renovation work is supposed to be done by the year 2030.  I think it would be interesting to come back when it is complete and not during Ramadan.
14th -16th century mosque

The buildings in the old section were mostly Coral, wood and cement.

I am glad we stopped box checked next.
