Tuesday April 18 - Rhodes Greece

8:45 a.m. tour up to Mount Filerimos and then down to the grand palace of the Masters. The day was an absolute perfect day with a little cloud cover and temperatures in the upper 60°s
The bus ride up to the top of the mount where an old church was built a top an acropolis. wiki
After a walk around the top of the hill and admiring the views we got back on the road down to Rhodes.  We entered the old city though several gates an medieval wall from the 14 - 16th century.  The palace of the grand masters had been rebuilt in the 1930s by the Italians for Mussolini to use.  The Palace had been destroyed by an explosion of gunpowder down in one of the magazines.

when the Italian tree built the palace, they brought in ancient Mosaic floors from all over the Christian world.
We split off from the tour group after this and made our own way back to the ship and had lunch.
In the afternoon I set out on some independent exploration of the old city and walked many of the smaller alleyways and side streets
then caught up with Daryl and Susan at a cafe Socratous Garden
Nice day!
